Things to Do in Manitou Springs
The famous mountain attractions begin close to a compact historic district. Leave time for the eight springs, Miramont Castle, Manitou Avenue, and the arcade instead of treating town as a parking lot for Pikes Peak.

Follow the springs through the historic district
The official mineral-springs map turns Manitou Avenue into a walk through the town’s resort history. The eight public fonts have different mineral profiles, and the route passes the Penny Arcade, galleries, cafés, and Victorian storefronts rather than isolating the springs as one quick stop.
Add Miramont Castle when its current tour hours fit. The 1895 stone mansion sits above downtown, and its rooms and exhibits cover Manitou’s resort-era architecture and social history. The arcade and springs remain the easier choices when the group needs a flexible or mostly outdoor afternoon.
For one reserved mountain outing
Choose the Cog for a seated three-hour summit trip. Choose the Incline only when everyone accepts the steep climb, reservation, and Barr Trail descent. They are different days, not interchangeable ways to see Pikes Peak.
For easier red-rock access
Garden of the Gods offers paved Central Garden paths, roadside overlooks, and visitor-center geology exhibits. It is the clearest choice for mixed mobility or a morning that must remain flexible.
For Rainbow Falls
Treat Rainbow Falls as a separate access decision. The current county schedule is Friday through Sunday, with no parking at the site and a paid shuttle from Higginbotham Flats during posted hours.
